Photographer Sacha Kenny shares her love of country living giving us a glimpse of the home she shares with her Australian husband & two young children

When the opportunity arose for myself and my husband John to rent a rambling 15-acre property neighbouring my sister’s family, we couldn’t believe our luck.

Just over an hour north of Wellington, the Kapiti Coast semi-rural region of Te Horo has become our home. Allowing us to realise our dream of living on the land and to reconnect with family after living in Australia for over a decade.

“At this point in time it’s perfect in every way,” John says.

As a family we've fallen in love with country living. "We no longer feel the need to occupy our days - just being here, doing what needs to be done, looking after the animals, going on adventures with the children is enough."

One of the great benefits we've been able to enjoy is the space to have horses. Our daughter has a pony and John and I share an ex-racehorse. “The joy we’ve gained from having horses has been priceless – we love every aspect of them.”

We're living the dream - enjoying the good life and loving it!
